A blind person could be the best student or the most successful businessperson.
But they might not be the most productive.
That’s because the blind are at a disadvantage in many ways, says the company that created blind-focused apps in 2015.
It’s a challenge that blind app developer Jason Pashinsky, of Makerspace, has been dealing with for years.
He created Blind, a free blind-only app, that enabled people with vision to navigate a web page.
But the app was not designed to be used by anyone with an average or worse vision, he says.
When Blind launched in 2015, it had about 100,000 downloads, and it received praise from developers and users alike.
But it was not without controversy, with some users calling the app too expensive and not fully accessible.
In 2016, Pashinski and his co-founder, Jason Cadell, decided to make Blind even more accessible.
They created an app called Blindify, which lets blind people use it with their sight to help them navigate.
Pashinks app has grown to more than 100 million downloads.
It offers tools that can be useful to people who can’t see but are interested in blind-related content.
For example, Blindify lets users search for news articles that focus on blind people.
Other features include a “lazy search” feature that lets users browse articles without opening a browser tab.
And Blindify will help people who are not visually impaired navigate to blind-specific content, including a website that uses a blind user’s sight to provide better and more personalized search results.
In addition, Blind makes it easy for people to see a lot of blind content on the internet.
Users can access a search feature that will show all the blind-friendly content on a website, and blind-free content will be hidden from sighted users.
There are a variety of tools and resources that help people navigate blind-based content.
Some blind-centric apps, like the Blindify app, have a “blind” tab that can help blind users navigate to content.
The app will help users see a list of all the information, including the author, the publisher, and a short description of the content.
Blindify can also show a list on a webpage of links to content that has been blind-checked.
In a way, Blind is the next version of the blind app.
It’s designed for people who want to be able to read a blind person’s text without opening their browser tabs.
But it still has a long way to go before blind users can use it without being distracted by other blind people, Poshinsky says.
The company also has plans to create an online “blind-focused news app” that will help blind people see more of the web.
Pashinsky says he hopes to eventually launch a blind-supported version of Blindify.
But he cautions that the company will not be able until Blindify is updated to include content that is more visually appealing for people with visual impairments.
Poshinsky’s vision is not so bad, he notes, and he sees it as a positive development for the blind.
It means blind people will be able see more visually relevant content that can better help them learn and be productive, he adds.
“When you’re blind, you have the luxury of just being able to see something,” he says, “but we can’t be blind.”
He adds, “I don’t think there’s a reason to be sad when a blind kid gets to play sports and has to be the fastest, or the fastest person in the world.”
But he says the reality is that the technology has not yet moved to make blind people more productive.
“If you have a job that’s really good at something, but it’s not accessible to everyone, then you’re probably going to get bored,” he adds, citing research on social media.
In 2017, the Federal Trade Commission published a report called Blind and Dangerous, which concluded that many blind people were unable to perform tasks that they used to enjoy.
The report found that a study conducted by the National Center for Blindness and the Visually Impaired found that 75 percent of blind people said they had trouble reading and writing when it came to a variety-focused job.
“It’s just not clear that blind people are any better than everyone else,” says Jennifer A. Tishkoff, an economist at the University of California, Irvine.
“I think the blind need to be considered as an equal group, not just a resource.”
Pashinski says he has seen the same problem with Blindify with people who work in tech.
They say blind-enabled apps like Blindify aren’t suitable for their work, because they’re not designed for them.
“They’re not going to be a good fit for companies that have lots of blind workers,” Pashinskys co-CEO says.
“That’s just the way it is.”
